I INTERNATIONAL ART BIENNALE –
PAŁAC STRUGA 2026
STRUGA. CONTEXTS

§1. ORGANIZER

  1. The Organizer of the 1st International Art Biennale – Pałac Struga 2026 (hereinafter: the Biennale) is the Pałac Struga Foundation, ul. Wiejska 3, 58-311 Struga, Poland.

  4. The Biennale is an international contemporary art competition.

§2. PURPOSE OF THE BIENNALE

  1. The purpose of the Biennale is to present current phenomena in contemporary art and to create a space for dialogue between artists representing diverse artistic approaches, media, and experiences.
  2. The Biennale supports artists and builds international artistic exchange.
  3. An essential element of the Biennale is the context of the place – Pałac Struga – as a space for exhibition, encounter, and exchange of ideas.

§3. PARTICIPANTS

  1. The Biennale is open to artists who are of legal age (18+) and who conduct active artistic practice.
  2. The Biennale is open to artists from Poland and abroad.
  3. Each participant may submit a maximum of three (3) works.
    Diptychs, triptychs and other multi-part works forming a coherent artistic whole are considered as one work.
  4. Submission of a work to the Biennale constitutes acceptance of these Regulations.

§4. SCOPE OF MEDIA AND RESTRICTIONS

  1. Works may be submitted in the following fields, among others:
    – painting
    – drawing
    – printmaking
    – photography
    – sculpture
    – installation
    – textile art
    – ceramics and glass
    – other forms of artistic expression
  2. The Organizer reserves the right not to admit works that, for technical reasons, cannot be exhibited.
  3. The Organizer reserves the right to refuse acceptance of or exclude from the Biennale works that violate applicable law, infringe upon the personal rights of third parties, contradict principles of social coexistence, or contain pornographic content.

§5. STAGE I – ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS

  1. Submission period: 21.02.2026 – 30.04.2026 
  2. The following are required for admission to evaluation:
    – completed Application Form (electronic version),
    – photographic documentation of the works,
    – confirmation of payment of the entry fee.
  3. Entry fee: 120 PLN, payable at Stage I.

    Failure to pay the fee will result in rejection of the submission.
  4. Submissions must be sent to:
    biennalepalacstruga@gmail.com
  5. Documentation must meet the following requirements:
    – JPG format
    – minimum 300 dpi
    – shorter side minimum 1500 px
    – RGB color space
  6. The file name should include:
    surname_name_title_year_medium_dimensions
    Example of correct file naming:
    Ewa_Kowalska_LAS_olej_na_plotnie_100x80_2020_I
  7. Files must be sent via WeTransfer:
    https://wetransfer.com/
  8. The Participant grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use images of the submitted works for promotional, informational and archival purposes related to the Biennale, without territorial or time limitations.

§6. JURY DELIBERATIONS

  1. Jury deliberations (dwa etapy): 16.04.2026 – 17.05.2026
  2. The Jury consists of 6 members.
  3. The Jury’s decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

§7. STAGE II – DELIVERY OF WORKS

  1. Deadline for submission of selected works: 18.05.2026 – 15.06.2026
  2. Only works selected by the Jury on the basis of original artworks delivered to the Organizer’s headquarters will be admitted to the exhibition.
  3. Works must be sent to the Organizer’s address with the note:
    “Exhibition – Pałac Struga 2026”

  4. Works must be prepared for exhibition (hanging systems, frames, mounting elements). In particular, works executed on paper must be framed with glass.
  5. Each work must be permanently labeled and include:
    – artist’s full name
    – title
    – medium
    – dimensions
    – year of creation
    Note: In the case of spatial works, the placement of the label may be changed, provided that the artwork remains permanently marked.
  6. The signed original Application Form must be attached to the work.
  7. The interiors of the Palace are not heated. The Organizer shall not be responsible for any damage occurring during the exhibition if the works were not properly secured by the Participant.
  8. Note! Works that do not meet the above requirements, are unlabeled or incorrectly labeled, or are submitted without the Application Form or proof of payment, will not be presented at the exhibition or included in the catalogue.

§8. EXHIBITION

  1. The results of the Biennale will be published on the event’s website prior to the opening.
  2. Opening: 4 July 2026, 6:00 PM
  3. Exhibition duration: 04.07.2026 – 30.08.2026
  4. Finissage and formal award ceremony: 30 August 2026, 4:00 PM

§9. PRIZES

  1. Grand Prix – 7,000 PLN and a solo exhibition in 2027.
  2. Second Prize – 5 000 PLN.
  3. Third Prize – 2 000 PLN.
  4. Honorary mentions.
  5. The Organizer reserves the possibility of inviting prize winners and authors of distinguishedworks to participate in future exhibition projects.
  6. Financial awards will be paid by bank transfer within 7 working days from the date of the Finissage.

§10. ONLINE GALLERY

An online gallery presenting all correctly submitted works will be published on the Biennale website.

§11. TRANSPORT AND COLLECTION OF WORKS

  1. Transport of works in both directions is covered by the author.
  2. After the exhibition, the author is obliged to inform the Organizer of readiness to collect the work.
  3. The Organizer prepares the works for shipment; however, the author arranges and pays for the courier service. Personal collection is also possible upon prior arrangement.
  4. Works submitted for Stage II that are not qualified for the exhibition shall be collected by the author at their own cost and risk, within the deadline indicated by the Organizer. The Organizer does not cover transportation or return costs of non-qualified works.
  5. The Organizer does not provide insurance coverage for the works during transport or exhibition.

§12. UNCOLLECTED WORKS

Works not collected by 30.11.2026 shall be deemed donated to the Pałac Struga Foundation. The Organizer has the right to dispose of them, including selling them, and to allocate the proceeds to the statutory purposes of the Foundation.

§13. CATALOGUE

  1. The Organizer will publish a Biennale catalogue. The catalogue will include works by authors selected for the exhibition.
  2. Authors of selected works will receive a copy of the catalogue.

§14. FINAL PROVISIONS

  1. The Organizer reserves the right to introduce changes to the Regulations for organizational reasons. Any ambiguities regarding the interpretation of these Regulations shall be resolved by the Organizer.
  2. In matters not regulated herein, the provisions of Polish law shall apply.
  3. In the event of disputes, the court competent for the Organizer’s registered office shall havejurisdiction.

§15. ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES

The Organizer reserves the right to change the exhibition dates, shorten, temporarily suspend or cancel the exhibition due to circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control (including but not limited to force majeure, administrative decisions, security threats or other extraordinary circumstances).
In such cases, participants shall not be entitled to any financial claims against the Organizer.
